Principal's Message

Dear Nelson Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am honored and excited to join the Nelson Academy community as your new principal. From everything I’ve learned so far, Nelson is a school rooted in strong relationships, a deep sense of pride, and a shared commitment to student success. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this community.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Tanya Ennover. I have spent the past 27 years in education, beginning my career as a middle school Education Specialist and later serving as an Assistant Principal. Most recently, I supported the Wilson High School community, working closely with teachers, students, and families to foster a culture of belonging, academic achievement, and high expectations. Each role I’ve held has strengthened my belief that the heart of a successful school is its people.

Our schoolwide theme this year is “New Beginnings", a chance to start fresh and strive for success academically, socially, and emotionally. To keep you informed and connected, you’ll receive a weekly Sunday message with upcoming events and reminders. In addition, a monthly newsletter, Knight Times, will highlight important news and celebrations from across our campus.

We look forward to welcoming your children on the first day of school: Tuesday, August 26th. Please take a few moments to read the important information below to help with your final preparations for the year ahead. Here’s to a year of growth, joy, and meaningful new beginnings.
